Oh my gosh. Just now at 7.15 my family was having dinner when I suddenly felt my chair and the table
swaying from side to side. With fork and spoon still in hand, I saw the soup in my bowl swishing around the bowl in the same direction too.
At first I thought I was just feeling queasy or something, then my mum suddenly said, "Ooi, stop moving the table!" It was a matter of seconds before everyone realised that no one was shaking the table. We proceeded to kind of exchange nervous glances, for we realised we had just experienced an earthquake.
Almost immediately after that the dogs in the condo started barking. And you know animals are supposed to have more heightened sensitivity towards disasters like these right? Scary. But maybe this barking dogs part shouldn't really be taken into account. Because a lot of times those noisy dogs are constantly barking away. Haha.
Okay so right after dinner we switched on the tv and flipped the channel to channelnewsasia. And sure enough, the words
'LATEST: TREMORS FELT IN PARTS OF SINGAPORE' were located in small red print near the bottom of the screen. In about five minutes the phrase was replaced with
'6.8 EARTHQUAKE SHAKES WEST COAST OF SUMATRA', or at least something along those lines.
You know,
3 earthquakes within 5 months is not a common occurence. I don't believe so many earthquakes have occured in the same area in such a small time frame ever before. I still remember that sermon I heard on the first saturday of the year- during the end times there will be an escalation of catastrophe. It really is pretty scary when you think about it. But all this
must happen. All the same, let us not forget God's wonderful promises. (:
Feeling tremors is no funny matter.
